UNCAGED Innovations exists to prove that sustainability and performance can coexist at the highest level. Founded by Stephanie Downs and Dr. Xiaokun Wang, the company developed the BioFuze platform to fuse structural proteins from grains with other bio-based components, creating a fibral network that mirrors animal collagen. The material’s architecture includes a plant-based fabric base, a grain-protein core (0.4–0.8 mm), and an optional ultra-thin BioPU topcoat (0.01 mm) or a plastic-free variant. Designers can tailor elasticity, color depth, surface grain, and even biodegradability to match specific product requirements. Produced in rolls up to 2,000 meters with lead times measured in days, ELEVATE supports both prototyping and mass production. Its manufacturing process eliminates tanning and uses far less water, energy, and greenhouse-gas emissions than conventional leather, making it a responsible choice without compromise.
